I know why I've struggled to stay 100% raw now! I know why I was craving bread. I know why I was not losing weight. I know why I was not feeling as good as I wanted to.

I'm reading 80/10/10 by Dr. Douglas Graham. It has opened my eyes! I've learned so much!

The regular raw vegan diet is so full of FAT!! So full of SALT!! So full of dehydrated foods!!

I needed to eat more CARBS! MORE FRUIT!!!

Stop reading this right now and go to and order 80/10/10!!!

I am so grateful to Dr. Graham! The truth is so simple I could not see it!

" And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." ~ John 8:32

  1. Thank you for sharing this post! I am also a attempted "raw mormon mommy" and I struggle a lot. Reading your posts, helps me realize I'm not alone. I am so excited to read the 80/10/10 book. I have been reading some other websites today to get more info! Good Luck ~ keep us posted on how you are doing!

  2. Awesome! A kindred spirit! YAY! You are so welcome. It is truly MY PLEASURE! :) KEEP GOING KRISTEN! You CAN do it! <3

  3. Hi, I'm Sofia, and I've tried to be raw off and on for a few years. If you don't mind me asking: how do your kids and husband feel about you eating raw? Are they eating the same way? thanks : )

  4. Hi Sofia! Thank you for asking. Those are important questions I should talk about. Well, my family is supportive because they have seen me be so sick and it was very scary for them. They eat a vegan cooked diet, and I make sure to provide a LOT of raw foods. I've upped their fruit intake since going 811 as well. Sadly they are exposed to junk food everyday at school, and church. They will eat some. I won't force them to eat like me because they are already addicted. As I am/was. And I don't want them to develope an eating disorder. So I am just teaching them by my example and also with information. I don't buy any junk food, except for a special occasion , like yesterday we had a partybfor my 13 year old and she wanted chips and chocolate covered strawberries for her "cake". So although I hated buying that crap.....I also don't want to be too controlling. Well, today after church she came home and said, " Mom, my left ear is ringing and I kind of can't hear out of it." Hmmm....couldn't have been all the chocolate?? Of course! I try to help them be aware of their bodies and to notice how they feel after eating, healthy or unhealthy. They get it. They're learning. I lovenit when they tell me things they notice from watching they SAD eating friends. My husband is just watching and waiting for me to heal. THAT will be the PROOF that eating this way works and is the BEST foods for our bodies. I think when I get there he will eat more and more raw. They do good being mostly vegan and they can't help but want to eat what I'm eating when it's mostly delicious fruits! Whereas before , my raw gourmet stuff grossed them out....but who doesn't want watermelon or cherries or grapes etc??? That's another sign to me that 811 is the way to go, kids LOVE it! I'm lucky that they are supportive...I just wish I could have known about 811 or even raw foods BEFORE I had kids....good luck to you! And thanks for asking! :)

  5. I just found your blog and I love it! I have enjoyed reading your past posts.
It is difficult to explain why I am vegan to people...especially my spouse. He has seen me try just about everything when it comes to different diets for health. So he is skeptical when I say...this is it! Keep up the writing. I am LDS as well and was raised on meat and potatoes.... Not much adherence to w.o.w.

  6. Hi Rosey! Thank you! I'm always trilled to hear from fellow LDS vegans who "get it". We are few and far between but we are the future. I know it. People are skeptics until they are diagnosed with a disease. And even then, they either follow their fear or they "see the light" of hope and hopefully make the connection between food & health/disease and take the leap of faith to trust God & His beautiful design. I haven't blogged a ton lately...I need to...I just wonder if I've said everything I needed to's a journey. I'm not perfect...but I am on the path and improving as I go.. But I am still LS free!!! :))
